Day 91: The Principle of the Path

“‎Every path has a destination. Direction, not intention, determines destination. Divine direction begins with submission. Information is not enough. Insight is not enough. We need God.”

Tonight I finished reading “The Principle of the Path” by Andy Stanley. This post isn’t supposed to be a book report, but I just want to talk for a little bit about the principle of the path.

How do you get from where you are, to where you want to be? By having a plan. Where does that plan come from? Having a direction. How do we get going in the right direction? By taking the right path. How do we know what path to take? By listening to God’s plan for our lives, and following it, and making good choices now. If you want to get into a good college, you can’t just sit around and not do your schoolwork now, right? It’s just common sense! Or if you want to have good relationships in the future, it’s not really a wise choice to date everyone who asks you out right now, is it?

Following the path that leads you to the places you want to be in life could be hard, however, it is so much more rewarding to take the wise path, then to take the simple path. Proverbs 3:5-6 says;

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Sounds like a pretty good idea to me. 🙂
